Rushan is from Albania and by 1999, he was working in one of the best hotels in Mykonos. In 2003, he came to Ibiza and started doing some renovations. Eventually we met here in 2010 and started this project together. He knows everything about renovations, from electrics to construction, and can practically build a house by himself. His nickname is ‘The Giver’ because he loves building, solving problems and creating things like our beautiful pieces of art, artisan tables and one-off pieces. We just have to build a workshop and he will be in heaven.
I am from the city – Lyon – where I worked as a photographer in a big studio, primarily shooting furniture and decoration for seven years. I then worked as a stylist and eventually became an agent for photographers before working for one of the biggest photographic libraries, always developing my sense of style and decoration. I also worked in real estate and when I sold my business, Ibiza was calling me.
Rushan and I bought the house in 2010 and created the Pure House Ibiza concept together – an Agroturismo, with a boutique hotel feeling, filled with art and handmade craft pieces that are also for sale. Our lives bloom here together, as the hotel fuses our main shared passions: decoration, travel and interacting with other cultures, via contact with our cherished guests and our annual travels in the off-season.
Every year we go to Maison Objet and travel, collecting inspiration and new memories. We just spent three weeks in Bali on a scooter, looking for the things other people don’t find to express our own originality. We love the contact with new people from different cultures and Rushan loves to cook. Meanwhile, I look after your concierge needs and while we are always here as familiar faces – we like to give you the peace and quiet you came for.
